In todays post I’m sharing with you a simple and natural summer makeup look that you can wear consistently all summer. As well as products you don’t need, and how minimal makeup is actually better and more enjoyable to wear in the hotter months.
For me, makeup is as minimal as possible these days, with the heat and humidity having less on your face is better for comfort and practicality. Foundation and concealer can run, too much mascara can also run, and eye shadow can crease causing you to continuously need to do touch ups.

Using alternative products, or getting rid of certain unnecessary products altogether is what this post is all about and what will save you so much time and hassle all season!
Natural Summer Makeup Products
There are 10 products in total which sounds like a lot but each are functional, they all aren’t used the traditional way, and this is what I like to war to get the most impact out of my everyday makeup look.
- Bronzer
I use Nude by Nature Sunkissed Bronzer
I like to add warmth to my cheeks using a bit of warm colour from a natural bronzer. You can use this to add definition by contouring or just dab a small amount onto your cheeks. I find this really helps with the lack of foundation on the skin because it lessens that totally bare face that can sometimes make us feel not put together.
- Blush
I use Covergirl’s Cheekers blush
The same can be said for blush. I like to add a tiny bit onto the apples of my cheeks for a sun kissed glow. You can opt for just blush and no bronzer if you’d like to use less products, I do that from time to time.
- Highlight
I use Ilia’s illuminator in polkadots & moonbeams
I find highlight is where you add that little bit of sparkly glow that adds a nice dimension to the highest points on your face, highlight is something I cannot go without it really makes you feel glamorous. I’m not a big fan of a fully matte face so this product is on the top of the list.
- Foundation
I use Smashbox’s Studio Skin full coverage 24 hour foundation
A foundation and concealer free face makes a huge difference in the summer. I have been going foundation free for a few weeks now but I do have a few blemishes on my cheek that I cover with a tiny spot of foundation so I added it to this list.
Make sure to always wear SPF all year, but especially in the summer.

Otherwise I don’t put it anywhere else on my skin, and after adding bronzer and or blush and highlight it’s unnecessary. It feels so good letting my skin breathe all day.
- Eyeshadow
I use Covergirl’s Trunaked Sunsets Palette
This is a bit of a hack. I add peach eyeshadow to my under eye area to cancel out a bit of blue instead of concealer. You can’t feel the product and it works which is fantastic.
Choose a colour that’s close to your skin tone and apply with a sponge, almost pressing it into the skin. It evens out the darker spots for an even look.
I like doing this as it makes me look more awake, and I feel better after. It’s totally up to you but if you don’t like the full coverage of a concealer, try this trick.
- Eyeliner
I use Marcelle’s Kohl eyeliner in White
One swipe of white eyeliner on my lower lash line to brighten up the eye and lessen the redness.
- Mascara
I use Covergirl’s Lash Blast Mascara in Black
I use a few swipes of volumizing mascara in black to open the eye. This step makes a huge difference in the overall look and how awake I feel, mascara is a huge must for me.
- Brow Crayon
I use Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil and Gel in shade blonde
You definitely don’t need to do your brows, but once I have everything else done it just makes sense to quickly fill in my brows. This brow stylist crayon with gel is foolproof to use and is my favourite brow product to date.
- Liquid Lipstick
I use Nude by Nature’s Satin Liquid Lipstick in Blush
For a fancier day look, or nighttime look, add one swipe of lipstick to help moisturize the lips and add a bit of pink colour. I use Nude by Nature’s Blush liquid lipstick for a natural feminine look.

- Lip Gloss
I use Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb in Shimmering Rose Nude
My favourite summer lip product. This lip gloss provides ultra shine, smells like vanilla cupcakes, and is thick and creamy.
Lip gloss is so perfect in the summer for an ultra shiny, glowy look.
The Finished Natural Summer Makeup Look
These products are the foundation to a natural summer makeup look without the weight of heavy, thick products.
I like to be generous with the bronzer to warm up my skin and add contour, and a shiny lip is my summertime favourite.
