3 Athflow Outfits + What It Is, and Why People Love The Look

Athflow isn’t new, we’ve all been wearing athflow outfits for years and with the surge in working from home life the stye will only continue to evolve. People love it because it’s easy, effortless and comfortable. It’s also minimalist in nature, focusing on fabrics and fit rather tan anything else.

What is Athflow Fashion?

Athflow is created when athleisure meets elegance. Flowy pants, casual jumpsuits and oversized outfits will replace athletic clothes as the new go-to loungewear. Athflow is professional enough for the “office,” stretchy enough for the yoga mat and comfy enough for the couch.

Think oversized outfits, house dresses, soft outfits, cotton jumpsuits, two piece co-ord outfits, and leisure wear. Now that so many people are working from home the combination of comfort and style have been married so we can all live our best life.

The difference between athflow and loungewear outfits has a lot to do with structure and fabric. It’s a little less effortless and can be dressed up or dressed down. It’s hard to dress up a full loungewear outfit to the point where it’s work appropriate- let’s face it.

Where to Wear Athflow

Athflow work from home

The biggest inspiration for athflow is the transition from office to work from home life. There’s no better time than now to get on board with athflow and embrace it while being in lockdown, and as things eventually begin to change many companies will fully embrace working from home permanently while others might offer a hybrid model, athflow will have a solid place in your personal style preferences. Athflow gives you the best of both worlds, you get optimal comfort with the added benefits of feeling put together and not a lazy potato- the feeling wearing loungewear at home all the time can give.

Anywhere you want

The great thing about this style is that you can wear it anywhere, literally anywhere. Drinks out with friends, dinner parties, BBQ’s, running errands, coffee shop afternoons. The list is endless. I would never wear a full loungewear set out for drinks with friends but I would wear soft outfits, oversized looks and house dresses. There’s something to be said about utilizing fabrics and structures to create your own unique style.

Athflow, Personal Style, and Self

Refinery 29 correlates athflow with our sense of self when it comes to professionalism stating “This idea of who is the self that you bring to the office and what does professionalism look like, I think is very much reflected in the Athflow concept because what is appropriate for professional dressing, what’s appropriate for career dressing, all of that is changing”.

It feels like we now have authority in how we present ourselves professionally, dress does not prove career worthiness and the stiff structured outfits we’re used to seeing are a thing of the past.

Athflow Brands

Athflow isn’t a brand specific style since you can shop oversized and soft pieces anywhere, it’s more-so how you dress up leisure pieces. Here is a list of brands I recommend:

  • H&M
  • Everlane
  • Madewell
  • Anthropologie
  • Encircled
  • Uniqulo
  • Kotn
  • Frank and Oak
  • Tradlands

3 Athflow Outfit Ideas

The house dress

House dresses are a piece I’ve come to love over the last few years, they are easy to throw on and look put together at the same time and take about 5 seconds to get dressed. Throw on a layer and you’re good to go. Or leave it as is.

Soft outfits

Soft outfits consist of fabrics such as cotton, fleece and silk which are the most comfortable to wear against your skin. These cozy outfits are a must for any season and focus all on fabric type.

Oversized outfits

An oversized linen tunic with relaxed loungewear and sandals. Mixing oversized structures with luxe fabrics and casual loungewear pieces is a new take on loungewear. It looks less like loungewear and more of a put together everyday look.
