Adding Basics to my Capsule Wardrobe

Building my capsule wardrobe means adding in pieces that would be versatile, and warn often every once in awhile. California brand, Richer Poorer, was lovely enough to send me two pieces from their tees collection to style into my summer wardrobe. I love how versatile they both are, and how simple it was to incorporate them together with other pieces I already own. This is one big plus of creating a capsule wardrobe each season as well as the main reason I live by this method, mixing and matching allows you to save money as well as create so many outfit combinations helping to lengthen the life of your wardrobe.

I decided to pair both pieces with separate denim each style I wear consistently, the blue pair works well with most colours mainly cool tones, whereas I like styling the black denim with warmer tones. Since the boxy tee is wider at the bottom I tucked it in, giving it a more structured look. I also tucked in the black muscle tee because it’s actually quite long, and I always prefer a more put together look once tucked. It’s funny, growing up I was always told to tuck in my shirt whether it be at school, or at work- I always loathed tucking anything in! Nowadays it’s my go-to. I can’t imagine not tucking in a shirt unless it’s cropped. It really brings together the style of any outfit, and makes you look like you’ve tried harder.

Here’s the first look styling the boxy tee with black denim, an item that’s been in my capsule wardrobe for a long time. I was a bit unsure of the colour of the shoes but I like the added heel for an elevated feel. This tee is longer in the sleeves which I LOVE! I have issues with always showing my shoulders, unless i’m in a serious workout routine so this length acts as sort of a security blanket for days where I feel I need it (and that’s okay). The colour is a beautiful wine tone and I can honestly say if I plan on drinking red wine this weekend, I’m going to grab this shirt for good measure.

This is the sister of our Grown Up Crop. We took the same inspiration from 70’s vintage and infused it into this modern silhouette. A relaxed fit throughout and enlarged rib at neck create a super cool spin on a muscle tank. Tied up, tucked in, or left as is: this is a versatile silhouette for all body shapes and personalities.

A cropped tee that’s classy enough to wear just about anywhere? Yup, we did that. Our grown up crop offers the no-tuck-required length you want without leaving you feeling exposed (bye bye belly button) plus a relaxed fit and super-soft feel thanks to silicon-washed cotton slub.

Each piece is made with 100% organic cotton, meaning the material is super soft and structures to your body quite easily. If you saw my Instagram stories over the last few days you would have seen me go from work, to after work activities, to evening activities all with the same tee I just changed up the bottoms.

If you’re interested in buying anything from Richer Poorer check out their website here I don’t make a commission off sales, i’ve simply partnered up with them for this blog post. If I didn’t like the products I would be 100% authentic in that, but that it’s the case here. The quality is great, the price point is great, and I can honestly say Ive been wearing both pieces all week- check out my Instagram stories you’ll see.

If I don’t like a product I won’t promote it, in the end that provides zero value to anyone, and I care about what you buy.
