A Simple Winter Skincare Routine For Dry Skin

Share if you like this post!

Winter skincare products don’t have to be over the top. I’m going to simplify things and share my simple winter skincare routine with you, it’s geared towards dry skin that occurs from being indoors a lot but some of the products are able to be used on all skin types.

I’ve switched out a few of my seasonal products over the last few weeks for products that host ingredients meant to add moisture and protect during the dry months, while still maintaining important attributes like brand values, packaging and price.

I hope this gives you clarity that you don’t have to switch out everything and buy 15 deep moisture face masks, and provides a bit of product inspiration for the coming months!

Winter Skincare Routine: Why Transition Your Skincare Products?

The reason people switch some of their skincare products seasonally is because the temperature, humidity, and UV exposure changes therefore your body will change and try to adapt.

Skin, being our biggest organ, will change with the above so it helps to give it some seasonally targeted love and care. Whether that’s a product with a deeper level of moisture, or a different strength exfoliator small changes are all you need.

6 Skincare Products in My Winter Skincare Routine

Okay so here’s the list. Everything is linked in the post if you’re interested in shopping. I use affiliate links.

FYI: I’m going to list these by how they’re used in a makeup routine.

Winter Skincare Products: Cleanser

Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm

I’m a HUGE Farmacy fan and this product is no exception. Soothing, gentle and very moisturizing it melts away dirt and makeup and leaves your skin soft. I mean, it’s a miracle worker and 10000% recommend.

Winter Skincare Products: Toner

Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner

This toner doesn’t strip away your natural oils like a lot of other toners which is great for the winter when you want the moisture, the bottle is glass as well so if you’re into eco-friendly packaging this is your brand.

The reason this toner is so great is because it’s alcohol free and has 2% BHA which means moisture! Alcohol strips moisture and

The reason this toner is so great is because it’s alcohol free and has 2% BHA which means moisture! Alcohol strips moisture and sailcylic acid removes dead skin cells and has anti inflammatory properties and humectants (attracts water).

Ideal for combination and oily skin but I find it works on my dry skin as well and doesn’t dry it out, and trust me I’ve tried a lot of toners.

That’s the base of it. Next up, serum which not everyone uses, moisturizers depending on Day or Night, and the most important product that can often be forgotten in the winter. Sunscreen.

Winter Skincare Products: Serum

Tarte Deep Sea Collagen Super Serum

I like adding a serum to my routine and one that’s cruelty free and vegan is even better.

Good for Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily skin.

This product is more of a winter skincare routine vanity product in that it adds firmness, elasticity, plumpness and overall radiance. It doesn’t smell the greatest but my skin eats it up. I like to think of this as an added bonus for your skin in the winter, it helps with dullness and provides antioxidants.

Serums are incredibly important if you’re looking for anti-aging benefits, and are more of a better investment than cleansers or creams.

Night Cream

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep Night Cream

This night cream is amazing. The formula is unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. It’s dubbed as pillow cream and actually feels like that, it’s lightweight but very moisturizing and effective. The product also moulds itself back to its original unused form so it always looks brand new in the jar. Just an added bonus.

Good for Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily skin.

The reason I love it is because it contains hyaluronic Acid which attracts moisture while you sleep, and has a soothing lavender scent. A must for your winter skincare routine.

Day Cream

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Hydrating Moisturizer

I’ve been using this product for over a year now and can’t do without it.

Good for Normal, Dry, Combination, and Oily skin.

It contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid which locks in moisture and supports the skins barrier. This line of products by IT is so great and beneficial and the price point isn’t bad.

Sunscreen

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40

Yes even in the winter sunscreen is a must in your winter skincare routine. This one is my absolute favourite, it’s clear and feels like you have nothing on your skin. It also acts as a primer and works as a great makeup base.

Contains antioxidants, helps protect against blue light (HELLO WORKING ON A LAPTOP ALL DAY)

Good for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin.

I’ve linked my full review below for you to check out. Best facial sunscreen on the market.
