It’s no secret that Toronto is full of cafes, and often times it can be difficult to know which one to visit with the endless options and promise of being the best cafe in Toronto. Here’s a list of cute cafes in Toronto if you want an escape, meaning, these cafes offer a unique space for a bit of quiet time and escape from the noise of the city for a relaxing cup of your favourite brew.
Cute Cafes in Toronto
With Toronto being a very busy city there’s nothing worse than going into a cafe for it to be filled with people working on laptops, a giant line, people using the space simply because its Instagrammable, and just chaos all around. When this is the vibe, I usually leave. Coffee is meant to be enjoyable, and to be enjoyed. It’s not a fast food service, so let’s bring back the slowness that cafes offer in Europe- to Toronto.
Cute Cafes in Toronto – Now and Later – Bloor Street West
This one is a total surprise. Now and Later has a secret back patio that is more serene than anywhere in the city it feels like you’re in your own beautiful backyard oasis. This spot is usually quite empty with the exception of a few others and is covered by trees so you’re likely to hear birds singing and leaves blowing. The lattes are simple and big, with the option of iced beverages. If you like sweets the cruller is melt in your mouth delicious, and is served on very garden-esque plates. A truly welcomed escape from the noise of Bloor West, it’s a must visit.
Paradise Cafe – Bloor West
A Bloor street destination. Paradise Inc. includes a restaurant, theatre, and cafe. The cafe offers both breakfast/lunch/dinner service and drop in cafe service towards the front of house which means its always busy, but always good. Everything is made in house and they offer cookies, tarts and other baked goods for as low as $1-$2 making it a great value for the visit. The space feels more European minimalist than anything in the surrounding area, and you’re guaranteed to feel revived upon your departure.
Filosophy Cafe – Bloor Street West
The first cafe I visited after moving into the area was Filosophy, it’s quaint and delivers a very welcoming homey feel and their patio, even though directly on Bloor, is quiet and cool in the summer. I like Filosophy in particular because its more of a commuters cafe, so it offers an escape from loud chatty cafes.
