This is a review of the oh so comfortable Everlane Easy Short. These Everlane shorts come in 2 colour ways for summer, and a very appreciated elastic waist.

The summer is all about comfort, style, versatility, and ease when it comes to crafting outfits. No matter what your plans are you’re likely looking for shorts you can wear to the beach, at home, running errands, and for play- whatever that looks like. I can confidently say Everlane shorts are a great option for this type of lifestyle, but out of all the Everlane shorts I own the Easy Short takes the cake for comfort.

The Easy Short is comfortable from hip to hem, thanks to its lightweight cotton twill fabric, breathable silhouette, and pull-on waistband. It’s a longer take on our Easy Short-Short—and it’s just as fuss-free. Made up of 98% cotton 2% elastane so they have a mild stretch but the elastic waist is what makes them so comfortable, move-ability is easy and the overall style and look is super simple.
*Note the fern colour is currently sold out but will be restocking in July, there are other colour ways available still.

Fit
- Waist: I’m wearing a size 8 or M for reference
- Inseam: 5″
I went with my usual size and they fit perfectly with extra stretch around the waist. I do find most of Everlane’s bottoms fit true to size, but if you’re ever unsure check the reviews for size information from other shoppers.
Mixing relaxed fabrics with more structured allows for wardrobe versatility for different occasions, I prefer having a few cotton shorts as well as denim in my wardrobe. While still keeping comfort and fit in mind, I have a post rounding up some of my favourite denim shorts.

Quality
The quality of these is really beautiful, they’re made from cotton and elastane and are quite durable, I don’t see any discrepancies in the stitching or elastic waist and they will likely never lose their shape. The Easy Short remind me of a khaki pant with a similar thickness and durability to the fabric. These will go a long way this summer.
How I style the easy short in green
I’m a huge fan of green paired with white, the contrast is bold and still that earthy femininity that I love so much. I’ve paired mine with a simple white tank from Frank and Oak and added a blazer for a layering option. If you like a more edgy evening look I swapped out the blazer for a suede moto jacket. For an everyday effortless look I’ve paired the Easy Short in fern with a simple crew neck sweater from Encircled, this look reminds me of going up north to the cottage or going for a walk on the beach at sunset.
The only footwear to wear with these is a great pair of sandals, I’ve rounded up my favourite minimalist sandals and flip flops that will take you through the summer no matter what you’re doing without every compromising on quality.

Fit and quality
The same as above, I went with a size 8 which fits perfectly. Sometimes I like to go up a size in white pieces to get an easy beachy look but I decided to stick with my normal size in these shorts and instead opt for an oversized fit on the top.
How I style the easy short in canvas
The possibilities are endless with this piece, I don’t think you can find a more versatile short than this pair. I’ve styled them again for multiple occasions starting with an all white look with an oversized tunic. I love how the sizing here looks so purposeful for an effortless beach look. I’ve added a few different sandals from TKEES and because they’re so minimal they all work really well with this outfit.
For a brighter daytime casual look I’ve switched out the fern shorts for the canvas and this is my ideal night time hanging around the fire look for the summer. I’ve swapped out the tunic for an Encircled sweatshirt. For more of a nighttime dressed up look I’ve swapped out the sweater for a tank top, blazer and heels and this might be my favourite. So sexy and simple.

Overall Rating of the Easy Short
I’m giving the Easy Short a 4/5 star rating. They’re perfect for everyday life and can be dressed up, the fabric is lovely the quality is great, and the elastic waist makes them really comfortable. I do wish they were half an inch shorter but that’s just my personal preference. Everlane shorts are generally a classic style and these are no exception.
