5 Staples for Summer to Fall Transition Outfits

1. The classic combat boot

I’ve had my Doc Martens for a few years and don’t know how I ever lived without them. They’re that perfect classic style with a cool-girl vibe to them and can take wear and tear like no other boot, quality boots are a must and these top the list. I have another blog post featuring them I will link below but just know they’re hyped up for a reason.

2. The denim jacket

I inherited my dad’s vintage Levis jacket years ago and it’s gotten more wear than I ever thought possible. The fit is loose but structured making layering very easy, just see below. There’s something about fall that makes wearing denim that much better. It’s rustic, country, and outdoorsy. I find the mens Levi’s jackets are more oversized and relaxed which creates a preferred look over a cropped or tighter fitting jacket.

3. The classic long coat

I love the thickness and casual material of this coat, it’s thin enough that I don’t get too hot on warmer fall days and it allows for plenty of layering underneath. This one is a few seasons old but I’ll link a few current options for you. If I could only live with one piece for summer to fall transition outfits it would be this classic long coat.

4. Neutral Trousers

Fall obviously calls for neutrals, but a good pair of neutral trousers goes miles. This way, you can pair them with accent colours on top and still feel season appropriate and balanced.

I like to wear mine with sneakers for a daytime look that is put together but not too fancy, add a boot and you’ve got yourself a great office outfit.

5. Medium wash denim

I tend to go slightly darker in denim for fall and find a medium wash, straight leg classic style is the most versatile option. I’ve been rotating these three styles of denim from Everlane and love how each pair get better with wear, I never get sick of styling them endless ways, and the fit is a classic cut making them very comfortable.
