I’ve rounded up a few last minute gift ideas which is also the final gift guide on the blog for 2020! This gift guide is geared toward the procrastinator or the busy bee, you can find thoughtful and easy gifts that are unique and affordable- some are even instant (hello subscriptions). So if you’re REALLY in a bind these will help you out a lot by giving you inspiration and ideas you might not have on your radar.
So without further ado here we go!
9 Last Minute Gift Ideas + Subscription Ideas
- A handwritten list of your favourite podcasts and why you think the person receiving would like them, alongside an Airpods case. You can get cases anywhere nowadays, and since they’re the only ear piece compatible with the latest iphone models, they’re quite common.
This personalized leather airpod case from ETSY store ShenDoah is beautiful and available in 3 colour ways. Perfect as a thoughtful and timeless gift.
- A bottle of beautiful wine embellished with cinnamon like THIS ONE from blogger Louella Reese. Taking the time to choose a wine you think someone would love is a really nice gesture, adding a bit of decorative detail elevates the gift a little and is so easy to put together.
- A subscription, this is basically an immediate gift.
However, there are SO MANY subscription options out there so I’ve rounded up 6 of my favourites for last minute gift ideas, some are local but you can do some research into your area to find local businesses offering similar subscriptions.
Subscription Recommendations
Spotify Premium for the music lover.
IPSY subscription. At only $12 USD you receive products every month you may never try otherwise. I’ve discovered some amazing products that are now on constant rotation through this affordable subscription.
Pie of the Month Club from Niagara Food Company you can choose your subscription length of either 6 or 12 months. Each month is already pre-chosen and you can view the pie flavour calendar online.
CLUB Ravine, a wine subscription? Yes please! Hand pick your quarterly selection or receive the winemakers assortment. This is of course catered to Niagara residents but you can do some research into your local wineries or liquor stores to find similar offerings.
Headspace is a really thoughtful gift for someone looking for a wellness app geared towards providing its users with the tools for a healthier, happier life through offerings such as meditations and bedtime exercises.

Adobe Creative Cloud plan, the subscription is totally worth it for the program capabilities you get but the fees can add up- especially if you’re not using the service a lot that month. Receiving it as a gift would be SO nice for the creator in your life.
Raven Reads Subscription Box is an indigenous owned subscription box that features curated, award-winning Indigenous literature direct to your doorstep every 3 months. Box options are available for both adults and children. Shipping is free in Canada and $5 for International orders.
Frank and Oak Monthly Clothing Subscription provides ethical and sustainable clothing on a monthly basis to your doorstep. Each box is meant to be a complete outfit totally customized to you and your preferences. This is like pre-shopping and having a beautiful order arrive to your house monthly. Perfect for the fashion lover/minimalist/capsule wardrobe enthusiast in your life.

Last Minute Gift Ideas Continued
- Buy a Guess Where Trip. Day trips designed around Toronto, getting out of the house in the new year, yes please! I personally would opt for the Funky Florals trip but that’s just me.
- DIY Candle kit like THIS ONE from Etsy shop Lunaforest76. This is actually a lot easier than it sounds. You can buy wax and wicks from a local craft store and use any jar you have. Get creative, decorate the jar or leave it the way it is. You can also add essential oils or flowers/greenery into the wax to add scent. This would be so thoughtful and beautiful.
- A virtual experience. These will continue to be big into 2021 and beyond so just do some research based on the interests of the person you’re shopping for.
- A DIY gift basket. Fill a basket big or small with items you think they would love. The possibilities here are endless.
- Bake something! Who wouldn’t love a sweet treat made especially for them? If you don’t have a knack for baking thats okay- you can leave this idea out.
I hope these last minute gift ideas recommendations give you some inspiration for last minute gifts, with time and effort in mind I curated these based on what you tend to read the most on the blog.
Happy Holidays and good luck with your last minute gift shopping!
