Today I want to share with you a roundup of the best sustainable sneakers for your wardrobe from some really great mindful brands, sneakers are a great addition to any wardrobe and can be incredibly versatile and long lasting. Here are some of my favourites based on style, brand, quality, price, versatility and practicality.
What are Sustainable Sneakers
Sustainable sneakers are made using materials such as recycled water bottles, sugar cane, coconut husk, recycled nylon, recycled wool, renewable bamboo, recycled rubber and more. Sneakers tend to be made using harmful plastics and dyes and have a generous impact on the environment. Swap out your usual brand for one of the options below to upgrade your wardrobe, and create a kinder closet.

Good on You is a sustainability directory used to verify each brand below. If you’re interested in knowing instantly if a brand you love is ethical or sustainable I highly recommend using it.
Sustainable Sneakers
Veja
Veja is a sustainable French footwear brand that creates minimalist, ethical and sustainable footwear. Veja is actually the first shoe brand to use fabric entirely made from plastic bottles. Their pieces are upcycled using a variety of different materials, and ethically produced in their factories. They also give back to a number of programs, all in all a really great company. Veja is often seen as a luxury shoe brand because of the price point, but the price is based off the materials used, and the production. You pay for quality.
I wear the Veja V-10 Sneakers in Black and love them. I did size down because they do fit a little oversized. They are a bit still as well to start, but once you break them in the comfort is real. Plus the design and style is every minimalists dream. I’ll link a few below in various colours depending on where you prefer to shop.

Allbirds
Allbirds uses planet-friendly materials such as merino wool and eucalyptus trees to make their shoes, which are really great if you’re into exercising. More of a practical exercise shoe than the Vejas and equally as good for the planet. I’ve linked a few great styles below.

Nisolo
Nisolo is a B Certified Corporation which means they have been registered as a company that balanced purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment. Nisolo is intentionally designed, fairly priced and ethically made.
Their designs are always stunning, wearable for everyday life and meant to last. Here are a few of my favourite styles.

Rothys
Rothys is one of my favourites in this list. Their styles are so wearable and cute for any outfit, they can be washed in the washing machine, they’re sustainable and have a goal of closed-loop production model by 2023. They are innovative and continuously striving to be zero waste. Here are some of the best styles.

Everlane
Everlane doesn’t have a great sustainable rating compared to the brands listed above, but their price points are accessible for a lot of people and accessibility is a consideration when making these roundups. I’ve linked a few great styles below. They do sell out more frequently than some of the other brands, so if you love a pair of sneakers linked I wouldn’t wait too long to snag them.
