The Cutest Jumpsuit with Jacket Look for Fall

If you love the look of a jumpsuit and need some inspiration, particularly on how to style a jumpsuit with a jacket so you can create a chic and comfortable outfit for fall then this post is for you. One of the most comforting pieces in a wardrobe is one in which you don’t have to mix and match, that’s the beauty of the jumpsuit- it’s all one piece so you can throw it on and you’ve got yourself a look. But there’s always the top layer confusion, in this post I’m showing you how to style a jumpsuit with a jacket that’s cropped and really easy to put together.

How to Wear a Jumpsuit with a Jacket

Firstly, my biggest piece of advice when it comes to how to wear a jumpsuit with a jacket is to own it. This may sound strange but one of the biggest roadblocks when it comes to wearing a jumpsuit is the lack of confidence and over thinking we tend to have. You look great so just own it, there’s no one way to wear a jumpsuit and once you get the hang of wearing them, you’ll likely always have one in your wardrobe.

Secondly, make sure you take length into consideration. Cropped jackets and sweaters look best as do long jackets that skim the bottom of the jumpsuit. Make sure the colours compliment one another nicely and switch up the textures. If your jumpsuit is made of cotton opt for a cropped wool cardigan, or a long denim jacket for example. The different textures help create interest and depth to the outfit, and you won’t feel as if you’re wearing one item with far too much fabric. Feeling different textures helps your mind differentiate layers, and looks really pleasing as well.

When it comes to footwear anything goes, but I do prefer brown boots in the fall, they look great and are incredibly practical.

How do you Style a Wide Leg Jumpsuit with Jacket

Jumpsuits can be a tricky piece to style depending on the fit, which basically sets you up for what type of layering options you’re able to go for. Styling a wide leg jumpsuit, pictured below, I’ve paired it with a fitted cropped jacket and brown ankle boots. This styling strategy provides a silhouette and differentiates the length, I love how casual and chic this look is paired with an ankle boot and loose waves.

You could easily wear this outfit to the office, out for drinks and dinner with friends, or even to run a few quick errands. We love versatility around here.

The great thing about this jacket is the incredibly quality and details, the hardware is durable and practical while the suede is soft and really romantic. I’ve left the belt open for an easier look but you can always use it to add a cinched in waist. Whatever look you prefer, this jacket has got you covered.

Can You Wear a Jumpsuit to the Office

Yes of course! One of the most beneficial characteristics of a jumpsuit is versatility. You can wear them to a wedding, drinks with friends, for running errands, and to the office. I would layer with either a cropped blazer, an oversized mid length blazer or a really pretty cardigan over top. The outfit opportunities are endless and the good thing about jumpsuits is you oftentimes can’t tell whether it’s a one piece or two, especially with the advent of monochrome dressing. Jumpsuits can be incredibly stylish and professional.

If you do opt for a jumpsuit with straps not suitable for work you can simply layer with a light layer and a coat overtop for fall, and take of the layers if you go for after work drinks. A jumpsuit with a jacket is business casual. That means you can take the jumpsuit from day to night with ease, creating less need to shop for separate occasions. That’s a major win.
